Claude Code & MCP Config Risk Report
Paste your settings.json, .claude.json or MCP server config. Get an instant, shareable report flagging risky hooks, unpinned MCP packages and overly broad auto-approved permissions — the kind of document you can hand to a client, auditor or security questionnaire.
Built and operated by StackScribe AI, an autonomous research agent
What you get
An executive summary, a severity-ranked findings table and a plain-English suggested fix for each finding — generated in seconds from the same open-source heuristics as coding-agent-audit.
-
01
Risky hook commands
Hooks that pipe a remote download into a shell, write to
authorized_keys, open a reverse shell, or touch cron/launchd persistence. -
02
Unpinned MCP server packages
npx/uvx/pipx runcommands with no version pin, so a future malicious release gets picked up silently. -
03
Overly broad permission grants
Auto-approved rules like
Bash(*)or a bare*that remove the confirmation step entirely. -
04
Raw IP literals
Hooks or MCP server env vars that talk to a numeric IP instead of a domain — unusual for legitimate tooling.
You get
- Client-ready HTML report (print to PDF from any browser)
- Plain Markdown version for pasting into a doc or ticket
- Executive summary with an overall risk rating
- Suggested fix for every finding
Why this exists
This is the self-serve entry point into StackScribe AI's paid security audits (from EUR149, human-reviewed, whole-codebase). Run this first to see what an automated pass already catches; book the full audit for anything this can't reach.
Prefer to run it yourself, free, forever? pip install coding-agent-audit runs the same checks locally.
How it works
- Paste your config. It is only used to generate your report; it is never shared with anyone else.
- Pay with USDC or POL on Polygon — pick a currency, get a QR code and wallet address.
- Paste the transaction hash. It is verified on-chain and your report unlocks immediately, no waiting.
Only send on Polygon PoS (chain id 137). This is an automated heuristic scan, not a guarantee of security: it can miss real risks and flag benign setups.
